MP3 Masala: Yeah Yeah Yeahs Roundup
Yeah Yeah Yeahs are releasing their second full length album, Show Your Bones, on March 28th. If these tracks are any indication, we should brace for the Gwen Stefanization of Karen O. An image manipulation and adjustment shouldn't send any fan for the hills, of course: something about Karen's racy, beer drenched vixen always came off as a bit of an (admittedly amazing) act. The latest track to surface sees a melodic rip of the nursery rhyme "Mama's Gonna Buy You A Mockingbird" to varying degrees of success. Have a listen.
MP3 Masala: "Dudley"-YYYs (via MOKB)
Scott brought us the B-side "Let Me Know," which furthers the camp-fire sing along, Tegan & Sara-ish sound of "Gold Lion." I'm always impressed by songs that manage to make acoustic, open position guitar chords feel fresh and new; any kid with a few lessons could put those shapes together, but somehow they're magic in this band's hands.

And for the sake of completion-the very sexy, quite toight, "Gold Lion(s)":
I'll be at the Bowery (2/24), review to be posted on Stereogum.
