"Norah Jones's New Punk Band"
I'm still not sure what to make of what we saw after Pela's set (post and pics to come) at The Delancey Friday night. See Stereogum for my recap. Jerry Yeti did a great job telling the story behind the story, so go read his post. Also there with us were Jen Gothamist and Max Power, who loved it and have great write-ups. The pics are worth the jump. Take it. She's swoon-worthy.

they attacking your boy Yeti, but i set em straight.
And by the way I (anon) think the new pearl jam is fantastic but my judgment is a bit clouded.

Great meeting you Friday. I've chimed in over at my thing and tried to be fair regarding Pela, who did have a couple songs that rocked me. Overall, though, I wasn't very engaged. Still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt & hear the EP, however.

Max Power--you too man. Nice take on the night. I think we're eye to eye on Pela; I loved the first half of the set, and the rest needed a little something. They have some great songs (notably on that new EP); once the rest of the set catches up, they'll be in business.
Axl--word. I was beginning to think you were Eddie Vedder. Though you still haven't dispelled that assumption...
I like the new PJ, don't love it. Always a fan though.

These pics look great, btw. For some reason, I wasn't even noticing how fetching she looked in that disguise during the set. I really wasn't! But your pics drive it straight home... See your around.
