The weather held up surprisingly well for a day on Coney Island. Proper review on Stereogum. Just to get everyone up to speed, Siren Festival is a free concert on two stages, thrown by the Village Voice down by the water. Nathans, the Cyclone, the Wonderwheel...you name it.
As for the acts: Man Man and Serena-Maneesh were the day's stars. And then I left. Didn't really feel the bill this year, but Stillwell Stage had the better line up. Tapes 'n' Tapes? Meh 'n' Meh. Love Art Brut, but just couldn't do the canned comedy for a fifth time in fewer months. Priestess brought some Metallica-meets-Sabbath rawk, and there'll always be a place in my heart for Cliff Burton look-alikes and heavy riffing. Pleasant surprise there.

Heard Celebration were awful, heard decent things about Rogers Sisters, thought Deadboy was alright. Loved the Italian Ices. (The sugary goodness you eat without a spoon, not the band. Is there a band?)
Note to the Voice and Siren: Thank you for the free show! But please round up a couple of hundred bucks for real sound men. Thank you. There shall be more pics on Flickr later.

Great pics! Did you take them yourself?
